http://youtu.be/g5hN_m55uoM - Here I am to Worship
Light of the world,
You stepped down into darkness.
Opened my eyes, let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore you
Hope of a life spent with you
And here I am to worship,
here I am to bow down,
here I am to say that you're my God
You're altogether lovely,
altogether worthy,
altogether wonderful to me.
King of all days,
oh, so highly exalted.
Glorious in heaven above.
Humbly you came
to the earth you created
All for love's sake became poor.
And here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that you're my God
You're altogether lovely.
altogether worthy,
altogether wonderful to me.
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
No, I'll never know how much it cost
Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that you're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
Disclaimer: I truly understand that there are emergencies where one would have to get up and leave a service. I’ve had to myself. I also have the greatest respect for all parents who brings their children to service, even though they know it’s going to be a challenge to get them to sit still for an hour. So my observations are not for those situations. And by the way, I'm chief sinner on this one. I can't cast any stones. I want to do better and I'm committed to being more intentional in worship. He is Worthy!
Isaiah 6:1-5
It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of His robe filled the Temple. Attending Him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. 3 They were calling out to each other,
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies!
The whole earth is filled with His glory!”
4Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke.
5Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”
God is not Holy.
God is not Holy, Holy.
GOD is HOLY, HOLY, HOLY.
What does that mean? I’m no Hebrew or Greek scholar but I’ve been taught by some pretty intelligent students of the bible and they tell me that in the Hebrew language, there is no word(s) to express the superlative. In English, we have “holy”, “more holy” and “most holy”. But in Hebrew, in order to express the superlative, the word “holy” is repeated three times. That’s why when we read about God being Holy, Holy, Holy. It means God is the most holy. As an "uneducated layman" I think it may also refer to the holiness of the Trinity; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
As I read the above passage from Isaiah, it concerns me that I don’t always recognize God’s Holiness. I don’t show Him the respect that Isaiah showed. I don’t bow down before Him every time I come into His Presence, I am not always humbled by how unworthy I would be to come before Him without my Savior’s blood covering me. Why? He is so worthy of all my praise and worship, yet I hardly acknowledge His Presence.
I do have times when I just fall on my face in absolute awe of my God! In those special times. I realize how incredibly awesome He is. I want that moment to last forever. But it doesn’t take long before I get caught up in “me” and my wants and needs, and I forget that everything I am, everything I have, everything! comes from Almighty God, my Heavenly Father.
Don’t you love watching those videos of all the stars and planets in space, the sun and moon, and the earth as seen from way out there in heavenly places? When I watch those videos, I become very aware of my insignificance, my smallness. I am humbled. At the same time, I become very aware of the greatest of Creator God who hung the stars in the sky and calls each one by name. The One who created every galaxy, every planet and He paid very special attention to a tiny little blue planet He called earth, designing it just right so that it would accommodate His very special creation and possession, man, whom HE created in His likeness. How awesome is that?

Now, knowing all that about my GOD, how in the world do I not reverence Him every waking moment? How can I use His Holy Name carelessly?
His very Name is Holy. The scribes considered His Name so holy that anytime they wrote it, they would change quills, rather than using the same quill that had been using to write all the other words. As they wrote the Holy Scriptures, whenever they came to the Name of God, Jehovah or Yahweh, the got up and washed their hands, they changed quills, and only then would they dare to write that most holy Name.
But we sling that Holy Name around so carelessly, without any regard or respect for our God. Unfortunately, it’s just another slang word for many of us. That’s just not right.
In an attempt to be more “people friendly”, many churches seem to have lost a sense of the reverence and fear that we see in the Bible. We come together to worship our Sovereign LORD. And HE has told us that whenever two or three come together in His Name, there He will be also. Will He be at your worship service today? Will you feel His Presence? Will you acknowledge His Presence?
If I’m truthful, I don’t like my own answers to those questions.
I wished that each one of us who sit in the “audience”, could take turns standing in the pulpit, before the gathered congregation, and see for just one service, what the preacher or pastor sees when he’s standing and looking out. Would every person have focused attention and minds plugged in anxious to hear God’s Word proclaimed? I’m afraid that doesn’t happen very often.
I think we’d see distractions on every side. People getting up and down, going in and out of the service, personal conversations going on, sometimes not even in a whisper, people sleeping… and oh, don’t forget people like me looking around watching for all those distractions so that I can sit in judgment. = ( That is not respectful to the minister, but worse than that, it’s not respectful to the Eternal, Self-Sufficient One, our Holy, Holy, Holy God.
//youtu.be/rGgX_oqdib4 - Revelation Song -
I love going to church. I love seeing people that I haven’t see all week and getting hugs. I love watching the babies there with their parents. It takes some time, but eventually those little babies grow up and learn how to sit quietly, singing and praying with their family. What a beautiful thing when families can worship together! I know God loves to see those babies and children feeling right at home in His House. I don’t mind one bit hearing them cooing or evening crying. They’re babies. That’s what babies do. = )
But I’m not a baby. I’m an adult who claims to love God with all my heart. Yet when I come together with my church family to “worship”, too many times I don’t even think about the fact that God is there, in our midst, waiting to be worshiped and praised! Am I the only one who struggles with this?
I’m confessing my sin, Lord, please forgive me!
What would it take for our churches to come together with single minded devotion, giving all our attention to our Savior? What if we were so in awe of His glorious Presence that we couldn’t help but fall to our knees, to lift up our hands in praise, to fall on our faces in humility before our Holy Holy Holy God?
Unfortunately, many of us would find that uncomfortable. And yes, even our sincere demonstration of worshiping would become a “distraction” for others. I’m reminded of when David returned from defeating the Philistines. He was bringing back the Ark of the Covenant and he was so excited and joyful.
“And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly tunic. So David and all Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with much shouting and blowing of the trumpets.” 2 Samuel 6:14-15
David was praising and worshiping God with all his heart, mind and body. But his wife, Michal, was disgusted by his actions. Verse 20 says “When David returned home to bless his family, Michal came out to meet him and said in disgust, ‘How glorious the king of Israel looked today! He exposed himself to the servant girls like any indecent person might do!’ David retorted to Michal, ‘I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me above your father and his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the Lord. So I am willing to act like a fool in order to show my joy in the Lord. Yes, I am willing to look even more foolish than this, but I will be held in honor by the girls of whom you have spoken.‘ So Michal, the daughter of Saul, remained childless throughout her life.”
David displayed a joy that was almost uncontainable. He loved God and worshiped Him with everything he had. Michal felt his outward display was not appropriate of the King. But David had no problem humbling himself and giving all credit and honor to His God.
Maybe, raising our hands in worship or getting down on our knees before our Holy God might be an appropriate way to show our thanksgiving and dependence on Him. At the very least, I don’t think we should judge a fellow believer who is moved to raise his hands in praise.
Holy Father, You are so worthy of all my adoration and praise. I want to lift You up this morning in pure unadulterated worship! Help me to stay focused on Your Holiness, goodness and love. Help me to visualize Jesus sitting in the place of honor on our pulpit. Help me, Father, to focus on praising and thanking Him for all He’s done for me. I am committing to give my full attention to the songs and the sermon, and not to watching everyone else around me. I know it won’t be easy to do. Old habits are hard to break. But Jesus deserves my respect and reverence. I want to see His glory at church today. I love You, Holy God, with all my heart, mind and soul. I want to worship You with all that's in me today. Please forgive me for all the times I fail to remember You've done for me through Your blessed Son. In His precious Name I pray. amen.

Living a worshipful life
http://youtu.be/HeAwBmb_x28 - Heart of Worship - Michael W Smith
Psalm 28:7 KJV
Holy God, my heart rejoices in Your presence this morning! To Your ears, Lord, I pray that my singing will be a joyful noise. Your grace is amazing. You are my all in all, I worship and adore You. Lean down Your ear to me as I sing about Your love, for how great Thou art, Lord, How great thou art!
My heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will praise You.
This morning, my thoughts are on praising God, worshiping our Creator, bowing before Him, face to the ground, emptying myself of all pride, all thoughts of this world and simply lifting my praise to Him for He is so worthy.
Thank You Father, for sending Your Son to earth, God became man, humbling himself to become fully human, so that He could know our struggles and pain. Thank You for such a compassionate High Priest who comes before Your Throne of Grace on our behalf, defending us, claiming us as His own - bought and paid for with His very blood. He is our Mediator, our Advocate, our Redeemer, our One true Friend, Our Savior and Our God. This morning, may my every thought be of gratitude and worship to You, Oh Lord. I'm sorry for all those times I get distracted and fail to honor You in worship. It's all about You. Please forgive me and help me focus on You this morning. You alone are worthy of all my praise.

Lord my life is an empty cup
Here's my heart, would You fill me up
I'm face to the ground, forsaking my pride
Leaving my will, my burdens behind {pause}
All I want, all I need
Is just to be with You, just to be with You
Here I am at Your feet
Just to be with You, just to be with You
I have come to the end of me
And there's nothing I have to bring
But You said I belong, You say I am yours;
Nothing compares to knowing you more
You made a way for me
Oh Saviour, I'm yours forevermore;
Oh, You made a way for me
Oh Saviour, I'm yours forevermore
I'm yours forevermore

Psalm 19
For the choir director: A psalm of David.
The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known.
They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.
Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.
God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.
It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding.
It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.
The sun rises at one end of the heavens
and follows its course to the other end.
Nothing can hide from its heat.
The instructions of the Lord are perfect,
reviving the soul.
The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
The commandments of the Lord are right,
bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving insight for living.
Reverence for the Lord is pure,
lasting forever.
The laws of the Lord are true;
each one is fair.
They are more desirable than gold,
even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey,
even honey dripping from the comb.
They are a warning to your servant,
a great reward for those who obey them.
How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart?
Cleanse me from these hidden faults.
Keep your servant from deliberate sins!
Don’t let them control me.
Then I will be free of guilt
and innocent of great sin.
May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Worship isn't just for Sunday. The way I live my life should be my spiritual act of worship to the LORD.
Read Romans 12 and let the words sink into your heart. A Romans 12 life is truly an act of worship.
Romans 12
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Gifts of Grace
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Marks of the True Christian
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." To the contrary, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
This my goal, to live Romans 12 every single day.

All of Creation sing with me now...
http://youtu.be/O7bD02ZmTqk - All of Creation - Mercy Me
Tyler and Britton have been best friends since Tyler was three and Britton was five. It's been an amazing friendship and I'm so thankful that God put these two friends together. Actually, they're more like brothers.
This fall was difficult. Britton graduated and left for college. Saying good-bye was not only difficult for Tyler, it was hard for Larry and me, too. We miss Britton. We miss hearing his laughter ring throughout the house. Britton's not near in distance any more, but he'll always be close in our hearts.
Yesterday when I checked my messages and Facebook for prayer requests, I saw a post from Britton.
His words touched my heart and just reminded me of what a special young man he is. I asked Britton if I could share his thoughts on my blog. He said that it would be fine but really God should get all the credit. = ) He makes me (and his mom) so proud.
Here is Britton's post:
I just spent the past hour and a half upstairs in the art room working on a project that is due in the morning while listening to casting crowns, hawk nelson, and pillar on my zune. after finishing I walked outside to head to my dorm and looked up at the night sky. I saw a lone star (its cloudy and the light pollution blocks out all but the brightest) off to the side of a very bright, full moon. Instantly I felt humbled and at awe with the beauty of the Lord's creation as I gazed at those two great lights in the sky. Thoughts and feelings came to me that formed into words that I am feeling very strongly on my heart right now. more than I know how to write, but it's something like this:
God I see you in the sun, the moon and the stars. I hear you in the rocks, the wind and the running waters. I feel your presence in the mountains and in the forests. The power of your creation surrounds me and in the silence of the night I can't help but be stirred to thank you for every blessing you've poured out on me. Dear Lord, use me and my talents to show others your light. let my life be a testimony to your awesome power and love. May I never shy away from persecution and allow me to always be a positive influence to those around me. God you are truly wonderful beyond comprehension, all glory and honor be to you...
To my family and friends near and far, as well as those I barely know or haven't met yet. May God bless you in every good thing you do and I hope that he will always protect you and keep you safe.
Didn't I tell you Britton was a terrific young man?
I love those moments when it's just me and God. There in the stillness of the night or early morning hours when no one is stirring, it's just me and God. Like Britton, I can't look into the night sky without feeling an incredible sense of His Presence and Power and love. I think at those moments, God draws us close to His heart. God spoke to Britton - not in words but heart to heart, spirit to Spirit. because Britton took the time to be still and let his mind go to the Creator of the Universe - even in the middle of the night. Britton's thoughts turned to His Father. And His Father reached down and gave him a little hug.
The night sky that proclaimed God's beauty and majesty last night, Britton, it was just for you. He loves you so very much. And so do we.

Psalm 104
Praise the Lord, O my soul.
O Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty. He wraps Himself
in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of His upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds His chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.
He makes winds His messengers, flames of fire His servants.
He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. You covered it with the deep as with
a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
But at Your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of Your thunder they took to flight; they flowed over
the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place You assigned for them.
You set a boundary they cannot cross, never agian will they cover the earth.
He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains.
They give water to all the beasts of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
The birds of the sky nest by the waters; they sing among the branches.
He waters the mountains from his upper chambers; the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.
He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate—
bringing forth food from the earth: wine that gladdens human hearts, oil to make their faces shine,
and bread that sustains their hearts.
The trees of the LORD are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
There the birds make their nests; the stork has its home in the junipers.
The high mountains belong to the wild goats; the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.
He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down.
You bring darkness, it becomes night, and all the beasts of the forest prowl.
The lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God.
The sun rises, and they steal away; they return and lie down in their dens.
Then people go out to their work, to their labor until evening.
How many are your works, LORD! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.
There the ships go to and fro, and Leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.
All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time.
When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand,
they are satisfied with good things.
When you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath,
hey die and return to the dust. When you send your Spirit, they are created,
d you renew the face of the ground.
May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works—
He who looks at the earth, and it trembles, who touches the mountains, and they smoke.
I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
May my meditation be pleasing to Him, as I rejoice in the LORD.
But may sinners vanish from the earth and the wicked be no more.
Praise the LORD, my soul.
Praise the LORD.

Praise the LORD.

the Joy of the Lord
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
Psalm36:7
http://youtu.be/jeAUZdaLmBc - I'm trading my sorrow
2 Corinthians 4:7-9
But we have this treasure (the Holy Spirit) in jars of clay (our human bodies) to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
I feel stronger just reading that passage. Very few of us will have to endure more hardships and suffering than Paul, but his continual message was one of victory and thanksgiving. He continues this thought:
Corinthians 4:6-18:
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
His joy was in the strength of the Lord!
Today, I'm trading my sorrow, I'm trading my pain, I'm trading it all for the joy of the LORD! Yes, Lord!!!
JOY - the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying; keen pleasure; elation.
Joy is a feeling of delight so deep and so lasting that one radiates happiness and expresses it spontaneously. (Dictionary.com)
Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
1 Chronicles 16:26-28
The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the Lord made the heavens!
Honor and majesty surround Him; strength and joy fill His dwelling.
O nations of the world, recognize the Lord, recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong.
The joy - that feeling of delight so deep and so lasting that one radiates happiness and expresses it spontaneously - that joy of the LORD is my strength!
What does that mean to me?
For me it's a promise. When I remember and focus on how awesomely wonderful and delightful being in God's Presence is, when I rest in the knowledge that the Creator of the Universe is my Father who loves and cares for me; when I take the time to observe the beauty of all His creation and realize that I am His very special possession - over all His amazing Creation; these thoughts give me strength to do anything that I might be required to do. This understanding of who God is in my life gives me such unexplainable happiness that it simply overflows, and I radiate contentment and satisfaction no matter what my circumstances may be.
I'm afraid I don't always radiate that contentment, and that's too bad. Because not only do I have a future with God in Eternity, I have the power of His Spirit living within me every single moment of every single day. What can this world do to me? I am a child of the King of the Universe. He is my strength, my protector, my provider, my defender. He is faithful. He never leaves nor forsakes me. All I have to do is call on Him, and He hears my every cry. He goes before me preparing my way. Nothing that happens to me comes as a surprise to Him, because He is not limited by time. He is already there in my future making sure I have everything I need to handle anything that comes my way. And the future He has prepared for me is too wonderful for me to comprehend.
Good grief! I should be beside myself with joy every single minute!
How can I grasp the truth about my great GOD? There are no words I can use to express His greatness, His majesty, or His love for all His children. He is simply indescribably awesome! And HE loves me, unconditionally! That is reason for me to celebrate, to be full of joy!

Psalm 8:3-4
When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—
the moon and the stars you set in place—
what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?
1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. This is a psalm of praise and thanksgiving that David sang before the people as the Ark of the Convenant was returned to Jerusalem. The Presence of the LORD dwelt in the Ark. Having the Ark returned meant God's Presence was now back in Jerusalem. David was full of joy and celebrated without one thought of looking foolish in front of his people. The mighty King danced in the streets; he radiated happiness and joy because of what the LORD had done for them.
That day David first appointed Asaph and his associates to give praise to the LORD in this manner:
1 Chronicles 16
Give praise to the LORD, proclaim His name;
make known among the nations what He has done.
Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of all His wonderful acts.
Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Look to the LORD and His strength; seek His face always. ...
Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim His salvation day after day.
Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.
For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; He is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and joy are in His dwelling place.
Ascribe to the LORD, all you families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; bring an offering and come before Him.
Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness. Tremble before Him, all the earth!
The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
Let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!” Let the sea resound, and all that is in it;
let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them! Let the trees of the forest sing,
let them sing for joy before the LORD, for He comes to judge the earth.
Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.
We cry out, “Save us, God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to Your holy name, and glory in Your praise.”
Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.
Then all the people said “Amen” and “Praise the LORD.”
